District Taco is shifting into a growth-forward gear. The brand named Victoria Stratton as Director of Design and John Deacon as Director of Real Estate Development. The announcements surfaced on July 25, 2024, signaling a broader refashioning of operations around expansion. Stratton joined last fall; Deacon arrived in September 2024. The change signals a deliberate push toward a partner-centric model and a tighter bond with franchisees. “We’re thrilled to see Victoria and John's impact. Together, they have significantly strengthened our expansion capabilities. Their contributions have proven instrumental in offering our franchisees best-in-class support to open new stores.”
Since taking roles, Stratton and Deacon have begun instituting prototype drawings and updated exterior designs, creating predictable, cost-effective construction and a cohesive Yucatán-inspired brand across sites. Deacon’s team follows a structured site-selection and lease-negotiation process that tightens the development schedule. Together, these mechanics reduce friction for new openings and give franchisees a clear blueprint for success. Industry observers say that, when scaled, design discipline paired with real estate rigor can shorten time-to-open and improve unit economics. Early signals point to improved build efficiency and brand consistency.
That engine, design plus real estate, points to a disciplined expansion cadence. The question now is execution at scale. If the discipline holds, District Taco could translate heritage into a repeatable blueprint for growth.
