Editorial Standards
Restaurant Association exists because restaurant owners are too busy running their businesses to sift through everything written about the industry and figure out what's actually useful. That's the job we've taken on, and it only works if you can trust what we publish. This page explains how we try to earn that trust and hold onto it.
Why We Publish
Restaurant owners are busy running their businesses. Our goal is to help them stay informed by summarizing industry developments, operational best practices, technology trends, marketing ideas, leadership insights, and regulatory updates in one place.
Everything on this site is written with one reader in mind: someone who owns or runs a restaurant and needs information they can act on today, not a general audience skimming for entertainment.
Who's Behind the Content
Our editorial content is created by the Restaurant Association's editorial team and industry contributors. We also reference insights from restaurant operators, technology providers, consultants, public companies, and other subject matter experts when appropriate. Guest contributors are clearly identified.
Editorial Independence
Restaurant Association is an independent organization serving restaurant professionals.
Our editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, technology vendors, or commercial partners.
Content is selected based on its value to restaurant owners, operators, managers, and industry professionals.
Our Editorial Process
Every article follows an editorial review process before publication. Depending on the topic, we may:
- ●Review official company announcements
- ●Verify information from multiple reputable sources
- ●Reference public filings and government resources when applicable
- ●Update articles when new information becomes available
Our goal is to publish content that is accurate, timely, practical, and useful for restaurant professionals.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Restaurant Association may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with research, editing, summarization, grammar, or formatting. Every article is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI is used to improve efficiency, not to replace editorial judgment.
Sponsored Content and Advertising
Sponsored articles, vendor spotlights, affiliate content, and promotional listings are clearly labeled. Editorial decisions are made independently, and sponsored content never influences our news coverage.
Corrections & Updates
We get things wrong sometimes: a regulation changes the week after we publish, a source turns out to be mistaken, a number gets transposed. When that happens, we fix it and note the correction at the bottom of the piece with the date it was made. For anything that materially changes the substance of an article (not just a typo), we don't quietly edit it and move on; the correction stays visible. Articles may be updated as new information becomes available.
Sources
Whenever possible, we reference:
- ●Company press releases
- ●SEC filings
- ●Earnings calls
- ●Government agencies
- ●Public records
- ●Original interviews
- ●Industry reports
When reporting on developing stories, we update articles as additional information becomes available.
